The One Day Trip project, developed by our office in collaboration with IA Interior Architects, was distinguished at the REMARKABLE AWARDS 2024 with the prize in the category Regional Cities – Office, Large & Medium Offices. The event, organized by the Bucharest Real Estate Club and Romania Property Club at the CEC Palace, brought together projects and offices that define the current directions of architecture and interior design in Romania.
Representing MEDARU Architects were Constantin Medaru, Tatiana Medaru, and Elis Hairi, while IA Interior Architects was represented by Eduardo Sanz de Acedo.
Both Constantin Medaru and Eduardo Sanz de Acedo were also invited to present awards in categories such as Bucharest – Office – Small Offices and Regional Cities – Residential Medium & Upper Medium Apartments, as a gesture recognizing their expertise and professionalism.
This award marks the third recognition received by the project in 2024, following the prizes awarded earlier in the summer in Iași and London. For our team, the award is more than a formal validation: it is a recognition of a vision brought to life through discipline, consistency, and collective effort.
One Day Trip was born from the desire to create an innovative, flexible, sustainable, and interactive workspace, infused with a subtle narrative dimension. Its unique concept is inspired by “a one-day trip through Iași,” structured into three thematic zones reflecting the essence of the city: the Old Town, the Industrial Area, and the University Area—with the theme of the Seven Hills at their core.
The design was conceived to be more than just a response to practical requirements—to anticipate, to inspire, and to craft a distinct experience through careful attention to detail, materiality, and light.
Beyond aesthetics and functionality, this award celebrates a way of working grounded in trust, mutual learning, and authentic collaboration between everyone involved in the project.
Every space we design involves an entire network of people: architects, engineers, artists, consultants, construction teams, coordinators, and technical specialists. Without their energy and dedication, no concept—no matter how inspired—could take shape.
The REMARKABLE AWARDS prize is therefore theirs as well—belonging to everyone who contributed to building this story, from each team member to the client.
